The Fabric of Our Resilience
Every great brand starts with a challenge. Ours started with a ceiling.
Bethlehem Bruk did everything "right." She graduated at 21 and earned her Master’s with honors by 25—all while working full-time. She poured her heart into a career where she hoped to grow, but instead, she found herself stuck. In a traditional corporate world, her talent was often eclipsed by her gender and her youth.
"I was a woman overlooked for positions simply because I was young and female," Bethlehem recalls. "I was doing the job without any of the recognition."
The real turning point came when Bethlehem became a mother. She experienced firsthand the impossible friction of being an ambitious professional in a workplace that offered no grace for the realities of parenthood. She saw talented women disappearing from the workforce because they couldn’t be in two places at once. That struggle became her "why."
Nouvelle Addis was born the moment Bethlehem decided that if a door wouldn’t open, she would build her own house—one with a wider door for every woman coming after her.
